Help Kids Realize Their Potential
There’s an entire group of children who are so grossly misunderstood that society won’t help them. These children are characterized first and foremost by asynchrony — being many ages at once, as with a child who can master algebra at age 7 but whose handwriting lags a year behind.
Kids like these are smart, but they have intense learning needs that differ markedly from the norm and are rarely recognized, much less met effectively, leaving kids to fend for themselves for the duration of their education. There is no other group of children whose needs modern society so blatantly fails to meet. The failure to identify and support is even more marked when the child is an English-language learner or comes from a low-income background; but the demographics of such asynchrony matches the demographics of the population as a whole.
Support the Fund’s Innovative, Research-Based Approach
The Asynchronous Scholars’ Fund supports children like these with direct aid using an innovative approach based on the conclusive research and the successful experience of thousands of families of children like these. Decades of gifted education research has documented that asynchronous scholars require tailored education based on acceleration and curriculum compaction, simultaneously debunking the myths about gifted education. Support from the Fund will make that tailored approach possible for each child we support.
By supporting the Fund, you can help us create a dramatically increased, more diverse pool of innovators, leaders, and non-linear thinkers by helping us support the creativity, persistence and intellectual well-being of asynchronous scholars in need.
We seek seed funding for the program’s launch. The Asynchronous Scholars’ Fund is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization registered with the Internal Revenue Service; your donation is tax-deductible under US law. We recommend that you consult with your tax advisor or lawyer with any questions about the deductibility of your gift.
